The workshop of Abu Sakran was discovered in the city of Mersa Matruh during excavations in 2003 AD. This workshop is one of many scattered in this region dating back to the Ptolemaic era. The research provides scientific publication of the fixed and transferred discoveries of an archaeological mound in the Abu Sakran area in Marsa Matrouh Governorate, and this is with great difficulty. Due to the very modest range of published archaeological sources for this site, this lack of data was in contrast to the abundance of finds of sherds and pottery from Abu Al-Sakran’s workshop, as the workshop or pottery represents a production unit whose model is used by society in various areas of its life. This was done through comparison with similar models that belong to the same time period, for example: Al-Harabi Hill, the settlements of the Eastern Marmarica region, and other workshops that were previously studied and published. One of the most important findings of the research is that only pottery amphorae are produced in this workshop, dating back to the Ptolemaic and early Roman eras. The research is also an attempt to study the commercial features of the period in which the pottery kiln is dated, through the regional development of Marmarica and trade relations in the Mediterranean, within the framework of using its results to extrapolate the cultural connotations of the place, as pottery vessels are attributed to their production centers, whether from an artistic or technical standpoint, which reflected the surrounding environment. This is due to the lack of information related to the sealing and pottery workshops of this region.
