St. Basil referred to Plato's method of dealing with dialogues and mentioned the names of some of them, such as the Laws and the Republic, and pointed out how to benefit from Plato's method of presenting ideas.Where Plato criticized the opponents of his ideas in a way that does not make him deviate from the topic of the dialogue, but rather employs his enemies, such as the Sophists, to serve the purpose of the dialogue .The purpose for which the saint wrote is to serve the Christian faith, as shown in the letter, where the saint advises his colleagues to investigate the best methods of writing in order to clarify the sound doctrine to the brethren.
