Prescriptions of Treating Diseases with Herbs, Medicinal Plants and Chemicals in Roman Egypt in the Light of Papyri

Abstract

This Paper explores how the Egyptians treating their diseases by using Herbs, medicinal Plants and Chemicals during the Roman Epoch. And spot the light on Medical prescriptions which were written with high skill from professional doctors who received their knowledgement from Dioscorides Oribasius and other sources. The study illustrates six Greek medical prescriptions Papyri using Herbs, medicinal Plants and Chemicals, their date begins from the 1st century A.D until the 7 Th century A.D, and offers different ways for treating diseases. The study also elucidates how the Roman Empire managed its mercantilism, and what are the different kinds of herbs and plants. All these topics will be handed in our paper which consisted of four main points:
First: the development of using Herbs, medicinal Plants and Chemicals in Greco- Roman community.
Second: kinds of Herbs, medicinal Plants and Chemicals and its management during Roman period.
Third: examples of Greek medical prescriptions Papyri using Herbs, medicinal Plants and Chemicals.
Fourth: the final results of the study.
